St. Paul, Minnesota, The Assistant Professor of Marketing is a full-time position, responsible to provide excellence in teaching through the fulfillment of the mission and strategic goals of the School of Business. This is an onsite, in person teaching position that is promotable and eligible for extended contract. Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teach undergraduate and graduate marketing courses that may include topics such as sales, sales management, principles of marketing, consumer behavior, advertising and promotion, social media and web marketing for the School of Business.
Remain current with the latest developments in marketing and business and post-secondary teaching methods.
Plan and prepare assigned courses, communicating plans in course syllabi.
Prepare and lead scheduled classes in face-to-face, blended, and online formats.
Prepare and administer examinations. Assign final grades in courses.
Utilize technology as appropriate to enhance learning and efficiently communicate with students
Advise students as assigned in areas of academics, career, and faith, as assigned. Maintain accessibility through on-site office and teaching hours.
Support the Internship & Mentorship Programs by overseeing internship opportunities for specific academic disciplines in area of specialization.
Actively support initiatives to enhance employment opportunities of students.
Serve on faculty committees.
Assist in the development and evaluation of the business curriculum and assigned major.

Secondary job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with miscellaneous department duties as requested.
Develop relationships with off-campus businesses.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in a business field, required; MBA , preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Marketing, Management or Leadership, required
Teaching experience in marketing topics, preferred
Previous teaching at a post-secondary level, preferred
Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, courteous and tactful manner
Ability to integrate the Christian worldview into classroom instruction
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, working some evenings and/or weekends
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic to Intermediate computer proficiency
Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
