SUMMARY:
Assistant Professor of Animal Science is a nine-month, tenure-track position with the primary responsibility of undergraduate teaching, with course emphases in the animal science discipline depending on candidates strengths and college need. The successful applicant should also expect to teach and develop additional courses, including graduate courses. Teaching assignment is 12 credit-hours per semester (Spring and Fall) unless arrangements are made otherwise. The Assistant Professor of Animal Science will be responsible for advising and other service functions such as committee assignments. The Assistant Professor of Animal Science will direct MS theses students, conduct original research, publish in refereed journals, and secure external funding to support his/her research program.

This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services. Marginal Functions will vary with the specific assignment and depend on the particular unit or function for which the person is responsible. Consideration will be given on a case-by-case basis and reassignment of marginal duties will be made when appropriate.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
University level teaching experience. Online teaching experience. The candidate should have the potential for scholarly productivity. Experience across numerous animal species including ruminants (Cattle, Goats, Sheep, etc.) and non-ruminants (Pigs and Horses). Demonstrated success in securing external funding, and experience with youth activities such as 4-H and FFA.
